What we do at Aigas

Here at Aigas we have been sharing the wonders of the wild Highlands and Islands of Scotland with individuals and groups for over 30 years.

Aigas is a unique facility in Scotland – a family home and a Field Centre.

Based on a picturesque, high Victorian country house and surrounded by an arboretum and a small working estate in one of Scotland’s most beautiful Highland glens, Sir John & Lady Lister-Kaye and an enthusiastic team of young staff have welcomed guests from all over the world for more than 30 years.

People of all ages come to stay at Aigas to learn about the ancient and natural heritage of the Highlands & Islands of Scotland. They come individually, as couples, in family groups and much larger special interest groups to discover the wonders of this fascinating place.

But Aigas is much more than a place to stay. We run programmes on a wide variety of subjects from wildlife and walking to history and archaeology, land use, nature conservation and much more. You can sign up to one of our Ready-Made Holidays or we can provide a Tailor-Made Itinerary for you or your Specialist Group. We also provide Environmental Education for schools. We run programmes in Orkney, Shetland and the Hebrides and Overseas Tours to such exciting destinations as the Galapagos, Patagonia, Alaska and Antarctica.
