Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately we do not allow guests to bring dogs on site.
Do you have hairdryers?
Yes, there are hairdryers in each room.
What toiletries are provided?
We provide soap, body wash and shampoo in the bathrooms.
Can I do laundry at Aigas?
Yes – we can do laundry for £10 per load.
How can I get to Aigas?
We offer complimentary collections at set times on Saturdays or we can help arrange a taxi for you at a discounted price – please see our Getting Here page for more details.
Is there parking?
Yes, the car park is a short stroll from the main house and lodge accommodation.
Are there electric car charge points?
Yes we have several electric car charge points. Please ask a member of staff for information. We do ask for a donation to the Aigas Trust to cover the cost of charging your vehicle – there are QR codes on the charge points with instruction for this.
Is there a shop on site?
We have a small office shop on site which sells gifts and Sir John’s books.
Do you have binoculars to rent?
Yes, we are very fortunate to be sponsored by Swarovski Optik and we have several sets of Swarovski binoculars available to hire during your stay. Please speak to a member of staff on arrival if you are interested and we can help you choose the right pair for you.
Do you have walking poles?
Yes we do have a selection of walking poles for those that require them, however we would recommend bringing your own.
What hides can I use?
Our on-site guests have access to a number of different hides around the estate, which are always open for use. We have 3 hides on site that are only accessible with a Ranger – 2 of these are evening hides with the possibility of seeing pine marten and badgers, and the third is our Wildcat hide. During your week you will be given the opportunity to use these hides – a Ranger will keep you informed of when it is your group’s turn to use these hides.
For Tailormade guests, access to the Ranger-led hides visits must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
Do you take cash and card?
We now operate on a cash-less system, with card payments taken in our office during office hours. Invoices can be paid in advance via a payment link, or by bank transfer. Please note we no longer accept international cheques.
Are midges a problem?
For the majority of the season midges are not a big problem at Aigas. All our Rangers carry insect repellent with them on days out which will be available for you to use, and we also sell repellent in our shop if you would like your own bottle. We also plan our itinerary using a midge forecast to avoid them as much as possible.
Is there wifi in the lodges?
Yes, there is WiFi in all our lodges. This is suitable for wifi calling and messages, however we ask guests to refrain from streaming videos as this significantly slows the internet speed.
What does ‘no single supplement’ mean?
No single supplement means that we do not charge solo travellers anything extra to stay with us.
Do we cater for special diets and allergies?
We cater for all diets and allergies – please let the office know as soon as possible and we will make sure the kitchen team are notified.
Are the rooms all en-suite?
All our rooms are en-suite.
How does my course fee contribute to environmental education and wildlife conservation?
Our conservation projects and the environmental education team’s wages and activities are subsidised by the Field Centre and course fees paid by guests through our charity The Aigas Trust.
is my deposit or final balance refundable if I need to cancel?

What are the best months for seeing wildlife?
The best months for birds are April – June and September – October. We see mammals such as pine martens, badgers, red squirrels and red deer all year round.

Day visits can be arranged, subject to availability, via the office. Contact us here.
Can I stay in the big house?
Yes, we have some rooms available in the main house – please contact the office to check availability.
Will we see a wildcat whilst we are staying at Aigas?
Yes, all guests will have the opportunity to visit out Wildcat Conservation Breeding Project, to see a wildcat and learn about wildcat conservation in the UK.
