Darren Woodhead RSW MA(RCA) SWLA was born in West Yorkshire in 1971 and has lived in Scotland since 1996. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and a passionate Watercolourist, all of his work is produced outside on location and drawn directly in brush. He is passionate Artist/Naturalist, pushing his use of Watercolour and negative space and still learning.

He has been a freelance Artist since leaving school, travelling and exhibiting widely. He was recently elected a full Member of the renowned ‘The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour’. 

Absolutely fantastic. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well appointed, the food was amazing and the hospitality faultless. The rangers' knowledge was extensive and they were as helpful and informative as it was possible to be. The icing on the cake was being accompanied by Johnny Kingdom who brought expertise and a lot of humour to the week-end. The prices look expensive but as absolutely everything is included, it is fantastic value, if you are wildlife or conservation enthusiast, a visit to Aigas is a must.

Excellent experience. Staff are without exception relaxed and approachable in every regard. If the Pine Marten wanted to be elusive Sir John stepped in to make hide visits a highlight, whatever turned up with us... The young ranger team display a knowledge and approachability way beyond their youth, and their enthusiasm was infectious. Wearing an Aigas gilet I was approached by local members of the public, who expected me to be knowledgable and helpful. That tells me more than just plaudits from customers.. Just go, you will enjoy!

If the Pine Marten wanted to be elusive Sir John stepped in to make hide visits a highlight, whatever turned up with us... The young ranger team display a knowledge and approachability way beyond their youth, and their enthusiasm was infectious. Wearing an Aigas gilet I was approached by local members of the public, who expected me to be knowledgable and helpful. That tells me more than just plaudits from customers.. Just go, you will enjoy!

Everyday had a talk at Magnus House or a field trip in the local area or even to Orkney and Isle of Skye. I had traveled from the US to experience what the Aigas experience had to offer, and I believe that my stay there and adventures in northern Scotland were well worth the price.
