Gardens of the Highlands

A special combination of Highland gardens, both public and private, led by West Coast based gardener Sue Pomeroy

With a special focus on some of the Highland’s most special gardens, both private and public, this programme has been designed by garden-lovers Lucy Lister-Kaye and Sue Pomeroy.

Highlights include:

  • Week long leadership from Sue Pomeroy, a longtime gardener and propagator.
  • A train journey to Attadale Gardens on the west coast, enjoying wonderful panoramic views along the way, disembarking at the Attadale’s private platform where owners Mr Macpherson and his daughter Joanna will meet guests and give a tour of the gardens, followed by tea and coffee.
  • Visits to a number of small private gardens, with special permission from the owners, organised by Lucy Lister-Kaye through her contacts as District Organiser of the Highlands for Scotland’s Gardens.
  • A visit to the Walled Garden at Gordon Castle, one of the oldest and largest kitchen gardens in Britain, magnificently situated between the River Spey and the Moray Coast.
  • A day spent at Aigas, with a garden tour led by Lady Lister-Kaye, followed by a tour of the house.
  • A day on the west coast, including Inverewe Gardens, Dundonnell House and Sue Pomeroy’s own garden 2 Durnamuck.
