Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

Merkinch Activity Group spent a very happy day at Aigas last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Several people commented that it was their favourite trip so far. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly making us all feel very welcome and informed at all times. We all enjoyed seeing the wildcats and hearing from Silver about the project with the chimpanzees in Uganda. The walk around the loch was just beautiful and again, it was fabulous to hear from staff about the beaver, native plants and history of the estate.

I'd met many people that said how wonderful Aigas was and this October I experienced it for myself and wasn't disappointed. From the first greeting at the station to the last goodbye I had nothing but praise for all the staff and our 'experts', as they say in the brochure nothing is too much trouble, and it wasn't. The food was fabulous and I was presented with a cake. My highlights were seeing a pine marten for the first time and being within a few feet of a stag with a hind and a yearling but there were many more wonderful birds and animals on our weeks journey. I'd met many people that said how wonderful Aigas was and this October I experienced it for myself and wasn't disappointed. From the first greeting at the station to the last goodbye I had nothing but praise for all the staff and our 'experts', as they say in the brochure nothing is too much trouble, and it wasn't. We recently spent 2 nights at Aigas, while driving through Scotland. We were not with a tour group. Aigas is truly a special, magical place. The love invested into Aigas is obvious. The house itself is a grand country estate, but also a well loved home where many generations have lived. The dinners in the Grand Hall were memorable. I am a picky eater.....if the menu was something I don't care for, the kitchen made me a delicious alternative. Aigas is especially unique because you are a guest at a grand family home. The hosts and staff ensure that every guest is treated like family. Let them know what you want to see/do, and they will make it happen. Highly recommended.

We recently spent 2 nights at Aigas, while driving through Scotland. We were not with a tour group. Aigas is truly a special, magical place. The love invested into Aigas is obvious. The house itself is a grand country estate, but also a well loved home where many generations have lived. The dinners in the Grand Hall were memorable. I am a picky eater.....if the menu was something I don't care for, the kitchen made me a delicious alternative. Aigas is especially unique because you are a guest at a grand family home. The hosts and staff ensure that every guest is treated like family. Let them know what you want to see/do, and they will make it happen. Highly recommended.
