A truly wonderful experience. If you want to see Scottish wildlife with like-minded people and be treated almost royally by Sir John, Lady Lucinda and their remarkable team then you need look no further. We saw otter, beaver, golden eagle, pine martin and a wide variety of birds and plants whilst under the watchful eyes of the young and talented ranger team. In these days of feigned concern and superficial commitment it was truly an experience to be in the company of a team that really is making a difference to conservation and conservation education. Just read all the other five star reviews as they express their views more eloquently than I. On a more personal note, Lady Lucinda and her catering crew provided excellent food - which was especially welcomed by my wife who is a coeliac (gluten intolerant) and a strict vegetarian – and that is a difficult combination to cater for!

I wasn't sure what to make of Aigas. I knew it had an excellent wildlife reputation but I was rather put off by the prominence in the publicity of the aristocratic owners and their name-dropping connections to royalty etc. I had to dispel these prejudices to book a week's wildlife watching and I'm so glad I did. Not cheap but a great week and excellent customer service, not least from the Lady of the house and the brilliant Aigas rangers, whose local and wildlife knowledge was amazing. Food was great and the log cabin accommodation fine (it was a pleasure not to have TV and only limited internet connection as I immersed myself in the week's wildlife). Aigas staff could never do enough for their guests. Many other establishments could learn about customer service from them.

I wasn't sure what to make of Aigas. I knew it had an excellent wildlife reputation but I was rather put off by the prominence in the publicity of the aristocratic owners and their name-dropping connections to royalty etc. I had to dispel these prejudices to book a week's wildlife watching and I'm so glad I did. Not cheap but a great week and excellent customer service, not least from the Lady of the house and the brilliant Aigas rangers, whose local and wildlife knowledge was amazing. Aigas is such a special place: I first heard of it through reading Song of the Rolling Earth - a gift from a friend - and was determined to go there one day and I spent a week there in early June. I loved the whole ambience, the food, the warmth, the accommodation etc, and was impressed with the enthusiasm and knowledge of the rangers. It was a pleasure to meet Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister Kaye who have made Aigas into a home from home for their guests. I am no expert in the field of wildlife/conservation but I am very interested and I learned a lot from the rangers and from my companions (i.e. the other guests!). I was not quite as dedicated as some of the other guests in getting up early/staying up half the night but I saw otters, pine marten, golden eagles, hares, cuckoos and a red squirrel, to mention but a few, plus I'm beginning to identify many more birds, some of which I'd never even heard of before! I loved it and hope to return before too long.
