Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

I stayed at Aigas for five days with my daughter and we have never ever seen so much wildlife in such a short space of time. We got up early to visit the beaver before he went home to bed and after dinner we went to the hide to watch the pine martens. On top of that the rangers took us for walks and tours and a boat trip on the Moray Firth. The boat trip was the highlight of the week as we were lucky enough to not only see bottle-nosed dolphins leaping out of the water but also 6 basking sharks around the rib and swimming under us, there were another 4-5 away in the distance. It was an awesome experience. The staff at the Centre were very friendly and helpful and Sir John and Lady Lucy were the most hospitable hosts. The food was amazing. Warwick says that nothing is too much trouble and they certainly lived up to that claim. Try it for yourself you won't regret it. It is suitable for anyone even if they are on their own as you soon make friends.

Just returned from our first trip to Aigas, and it certainly won't be our last! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and are so grateful for all that we saw and shared. We were unbelievably fortunate to see so much wildlife; certainly set a very high standard for future trips! Loved being so close to dolphins, pine marten, badger, woodpeckers and too many other birds to mention. Beautiful countryside too. The wonderful welcome extended by our hosts, Sir John, Lady Lucy, and Warwick was beyond expectation and made the experience extra special. The food was amazing. Particularly grateful to Lucy for catering so well for my dietary needs and for the wonderful birthday surprise she created for my husband James - special & heartfelt thanks for that. All the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help, and in terms of the rangers/education staff, they were so incredibly knowledgable and eager to ensure all the trips/etc were maximised. We enjoyed our little cabin too and the tranquility of the whole place; also, for the most part being away from emails, TV, Internet, etc, it was lovely escapism. It's hard to find suitable words to adequately express just how much we loved our time at Aigas, suffice to say that we miss it, and can't wait to return. Huge thanks again to everyone who helped give us such a fabulous time.

Just returned from our first trip to Aigas, and it certainly won't be our last! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and are so grateful for all that we saw and shared. We were unbelievably fortunate to see so much wildlife; certainly set a very high standard for future trips! Loved being so close to dolphins, pine marten, badger, woodpeckers and too many other birds to mention. Beautiful countryside too. The wonderful welcome extended by our hosts, Sir John, Lady Lucy, and Warwick was beyond expectation and made the experience extra special. The food was amazing. Staying at Aigas has been a dream come true. The location is stunning, the lodges cosy, overlooking the hens and allowing excellent views of the cute red squirrels running up and down the trees. The programme is quite hectic but every day brings excellent trips filled with wildlife, stunning scenery and the excellent knowledge of the rangers. They are all a very friendly bunch at Aigas, you feel part of the family, not just a playing guest. The food was glorious, all fresh home made meals and a delicious soup for starters. For me the best part were the hide visits. In the mornings around 5 enjoying the sights and sounds of dawn, the serenity of the place. In the evenings the beaver and pine marten hide. How privileged I felt to be able to see these cute animals. Aigas House is a stunning place and being given a guided tour by Lady Lucy was a highlight of the week. The gardens are so welcoming and allow you to feel really at peace. all in all a phantastic experience!
