Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

Aigas is about more than a day out. Kids learn about their environment and some more about local wildlife and plants through fun and interesting activities. Pond dipping, shelter building and treasure (bug) hunting are excellent fun. I was so impressed I took my daughter's pals to Aigas for her birthday a couple of years ago. They don't do birthdays as such but we hired a ranger and had use of the Magnus Magnusson centre to have our nosh. The kids had a brilliant day and parents and kids alike were encouraged to participate. All in all if I could give 6 stars I would.

Aigas is just the most special place. All the staff are very friendly from the owners Sir John and Lady Lucy, the ranger team, and the lovely polish girls in the kitchen. The grounds are beautiful and we had a full, interesting and well tailored itinerary every single day. Each evening we'd return to dinner in the main hall, cooked by Lady Lucy - it is such a treat! Accommodation is in log cabins. These are relatively basic and rustic, but so warm and cosy - I have never slept so well! We will be back again very soon! We saw everything we wanted to see including amazing views of pine martens, beavers, deer, grouse, otters and golden eagles.

The grounds are beautiful and we had a full, interesting and well tailored itinerary every single day. Each evening we'd return to dinner in the main hall, cooked by Lady Lucy - it is such a treat! Merkinch Activity Group spent a very happy day at Aigas last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Several people commented that it was their favourite trip so far. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly making us all feel very welcome and informed at all times. We all enjoyed seeing the wildcats and hearing from Silver about the project with the chimpanzees in Uganda. The walk around the loch was just beautiful and again, it was fabulous to hear from staff about the beaver, native plants and history of the estate.
