Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

We visited Aigas at the beginning of May, and enjoyed an unforgettable week. Everything about our visit was superb, the accomodation (not that we spent much time in it), the cuisine, every meal was a treat, the rangers whose knowledge of not just wild life, but local history, geology, and even an insight into local folk lore. The days we spent out in the company of the rangers were excellent, with many excellent sightings oif wildlife, the most enjoyable being the black grouse lek. Absolutely Fantastic Week with Dr David Dixon. The Wild Life was spectacular Golden Eagles. Sea Eagles, all types of Deer, Pine Martins and much more. Food and Accommodation brilliant and Hosts very welcoming. Rangers extremely knowledgeable and helpful. All the staff at Aigas are excellent. It is the most Wonderful Experience. We have booked again for next year.
Wildlife (beaver, pine marten, badger, birds and flora galore) at its wildest was what I anticipated and Aigas did not disappoint. The graciousness of out hosts, wildlife writer Sir John Lister-Kaye and Lady Lucy Lister-Kaye was most welcoming. The bright young expert rangers (George, Duncan, Kate, Imogen, Allie, et al) took us on wonderful walks and were expert in locating the various fauna (esp. birds) and views of the glens for us to enjoy. The meals (breakfast, lunch (usually, a packed lunch to take along), tea and dinner were very fine, prepared by Lady Lucy and served in the beautiful home in which they live. The cabins in which the guests stay are nearby and more than adequate.
