The Aigas season begins in April and will finish in October. We are running more programmes than ever to cater for a wide variety of interests. I’ve just been watching pine martens in the Aigas hide. I don’t think we truly appreciate nature unless we witness it, feel it, smell it and touch it for ourselves, an awareness fixed by a skipped heartbeat, a drawn breath or a dropped jaw. Aigas has some of the most exciting fauna our isles have to offer and, in a stunning setting, gives people this intensity of experience thousands of times a year.

I’ve just been watching pine martens in the Aigas hide. I don’t think we truly appreciate nature unless we witness it, feel it, smell it and touch it for ourselves, an awareness fixed by a skipped heartbeat, a drawn breath or a dropped jaw. Aigas has some of the most exciting fauna our isles have to offer and, in a stunning setting, gives people this intensity of experience thousands of times a year.
Went to Uist with the Aigas Field Center. If you enjoy bird watching, walking, great food and comfortable accommodations, you need to check out this trip. Calum, Louis, and Martyn were fantastic guides. The group saw 93 species of birds, 7 mammals, and 10 invertebrates. I’m new to birding, so to be honest, I actually was only able to identify about half the birds (but not from the lack of the rangers and fellow travelers trying to help me.) To get the full benefit on the walks, I would highly recommend renting a good pair of binoculars from Aigas if you don’t have some. The trip isn’t just about nature. You will also visit historic sites and learn about living on Uist.

Fantastic week. This was our 4th visit to Aigas. It was a superb Landscape photography with Laurie Campbell, his tuition was great and the rest of the group was very supportive. Aigas is memorable and magic and the welcome is brilliant from the hosts Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister-Kaye. Food just wonderful. Warwick Lister-Kaye and the Rangers are so knowledge and helpful. Wildlife is unbelievable. A very memorable week.
