The hosts at Aigas were Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister Kaye, he a naturalist and writer and she a gardener and superb cook. Both were gracious, welcoming and most informative. The rangers who drove the vehicles to take us to Scottish places of interest were very capable and kind. Scotland,in the Highlands is bewitching. Was not surprised to find the weather too cool and wet. Out of ten days three were sunny and the sky blue. Those three days were a surprise. A traveler comes prepared. The cabins we stayed in were fine. Each room had its private bathroom. All meals, teas and talks took place in the manor house. Three fine dogs were a bonus.

We stayed at Aigas Field Centre for 5 days in August 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities on offer: where else could you stay in a wooden chalet, eat wonderful food in a baronial hall and have professionally guided wildlife watching outings every day? The ethics of the organisation are admirable with support of education on wildlife and conservation. Having spent holidays in Scotland over 40 years, and now lucky enough to live here, we still appreciated being taken to the best sites for seeing wildlife in this beautiful part of the country. An real bonus was the opportunity to watch badgers, pine martens and beaver from the estate hides. Excellent weather enhanced the experience, especially watching young golden eagles against a blue sky!

We stayed at Aigas Field Centre for 5 days in August 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities on offer: where else could you stay in a wooden chalet, eat wonderful food in a baronial hall and have professionally guided wildlife watching outings every day? The ethics of the organisation are admirable with support of education on wildlife and conservation. Merkinch Activity Group spent a very happy day at Aigas last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Several people commented that it was their favourite trip so far. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly making us all feel very welcome and informed at all times. We all enjoyed seeing the wildcats and hearing from Silver about the project with the chimpanzees in Uganda. The walk around the loch was just beautiful and again, it was fabulous to hear from staff about the beaver, native plants and history of the estate.

Merkinch Activity Group spent a very happy day at Aigas last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Several people commented that it was their favourite trip so far. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly making us all feel very welcome and informed at all times. We all enjoyed seeing the wildcats and hearing from Silver about the project with the chimpanzees in Uganda. The walk around the loch was just beautiful and again, it was fabulous to hear from staff about the beaver, native plants and history of the estate.
