If the Pine Marten wanted to be elusive Sir John stepped in to make hide visits a highlight, whatever turned up with us... The young ranger team display a knowledge and approachability way beyond their youth, and their enthusiasm was infectious. Wearing an Aigas gilet I was approached by local members of the public, who expected me to be knowledgable and helpful. That tells me more than just plaudits from customers.. Just go, you will enjoy!

Our second visit and it was as good as the first. We went on the Highland House Party group and had a great time. Good variety of things to do and the added bonus of something each evening too. Lord John and Lady Lucy are fantastic hosts and all the staff and rangers are extremely professional and helpful. The highlights of the week were the day spent in the Western Isle, especially Hillbillies bookshop and Inverewe Gardens and the day spent on the Black Isle – with the visit to Foulis Castle being the highlight of the day. Don’t forget to take some time out too to walk around the loch and the grounds of Aigas itself. As for the accommodation – we have stayed in the usual cabins but we also paid extra to stay in the Round House this visit and it was fabulous.

Our second visit and it was as good as the first. We went on the Highland House Party group and had a great time. Good variety of things to do and the added bonus of something each evening too. Lord John and Lady Lucy are fantastic hosts and all the staff and rangers are extremely professional and helpful. Merkinch Activity Group spent a very happy day at Aigas last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Several people commented that it was their favourite trip so far. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly making us all feel very welcome and informed at all times. We all enjoyed seeing the wildcats and hearing from Silver about the project with the chimpanzees in Uganda. The walk around the loch was just beautiful and again, it was fabulous to hear from staff about the beaver, native plants and history of the estate.
