The hosts at Aigas were Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister Kaye, he a naturalist and writer and she a gardener and superb cook. Both were gracious, welcoming and most informative. The rangers who drove the vehicles to take us to Scottish places of interest were very capable and kind. Scotland,in the Highlands is bewitching. Was not surprised to find the weather too cool and wet. Out of ten days three were sunny and the sky blue. Those three days were a surprise. A traveler comes prepared. The cabins we stayed in were fine. Each room had its private bathroom. All meals, teas and talks took place in the manor house. Three fine dogs were a bonus.

The ranger staff are knowledgable and charming, the setting fabulous and the house and kitchen a delight. The size of the groups - ours was 7 people - gives the chance to get to know each other well, and we enjoyed each other's company as a bonus. I undertook quite a bit of extra-curricular activity on some early morning outings, and was encouraged and surported in this by the staff.

Clearly the result of many years planning, the courses at Aigas are well-honed to give you insight into the often secret side of British wildlife. The ranger staff are knowledgable and charming, the setting fabulous and the house and kitchen a delight. The size of the groups - ours was 7 people - gives the chance to get to know each other well, and we enjoyed each other's company as a bonus. We just spent the most delightful week at the Aigas Field Centre. Our time there was both relaxing and jammed packed. Sir John and Lady Lucy did in indeed make us feel like guests in their home. The guides were informative with a lively interest in everything we questioned them on. The food was great. The cabins were warm and comfortable. Our daily outings were productive even when it rained. Tea at 4:00 PM was most civilized and a very pleasant way to wined down after a day on the go.
