Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

I spent a week here and loved every minute of it. Cabins were spacious, warm and comfortable with a lounge and kitchen attached. Food was outstanding, especially when I have food intolerances. Some meals were made especially for me and this was much appreciated. Covid restrictions were in place and adhered to rigorously making me feel safe. The rangers were full of knowledge, very helpful and cheerful. The various hides for pine martins, badgers and squirrels were particularly good. Being autumn ,the landscape was very colourful with the trees changing colour and the visits out in the minibuses were superb. Sit John and lady Lucy were superb hosts and should be very proud of their place.

Was not surprised to find the weather too cool and wet. Out of ten days three were sunny and the sky blue. Those three days were a surprise. A traveler comes prepared. The cabins we stayed in were fine. Each room had its private bathroom. All meals, teas and talks took place in the manor house. Three fine dogs were a bonus.

The hosts at Aigas were Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister Kaye, he a naturalist and writer and she a gardener and superb cook. Both were gracious, welcoming and most informative. The rangers who drove the vehicles to take us to Scottish places of interest were very capable and kind. Scotland,in the Highlands is bewitching. I will be brief. In common with most of the other reviewers here, the time we spent at Aigas was very special. We stayed for an 'Aigas Wildlife Week', during which time we were enthralled, educated and treated to the most wonderful hospitality. Simply put, it was a stunning experience. The programmes seem to be well subscribed, so if you are considering a visit in 2017, don't dally too long.
