Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

I visited Aigas on a Road Scholar program, called Walking in the Scottish Highlands. During our week of field trips guided by knowledgeable and friendly rangers, I gained insight into the cultural and natural history of the Highlands. We studied the floral, fauna, geology and history while hiking on the property as well as on field trips across the Highlands and also learned about forestry and ecological restoration. Our hosts shared their home graciously with us, the food was delicious, the cottages very comfortable and quiet and I enjoyed the freedom of just walking about the grounds birding and botanizing on my own. The AIGAS Experience is not to be missed. It is an unforgettable week of Wildlife Sightings and learning about the many and varied aspects of conservation and the AIGAS' involvement at this most pressing and important time. The holiday itself could not have been better. The Lister-Kaye family, the Rangers and all the Staff went out of their way to ensure we were well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, the food delicious, packed lunches, afternoon tea, drinks-all just right and very welcome at the end of very full days. The RANGERS - a more friendly and pleasant bunch of young people would be hard to find. Their knowledge was wide- ranging and informative.

The AIGAS Experience is not to be missed. It is an unforgettable week of Wildlife Sightings and learning about the many and varied aspects of conservation and the AIGAS' involvement at this most pressing and important time. The holiday itself could not have been better. The Lister-Kaye family, the Rangers and all the Staff went out of their way to ensure we were well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, the food delicious, packed lunches, afternoon tea, drinks-all just right and very welcome at the end of very full days. The RANGERS - a more friendly and pleasant bunch of young people would be hard to find. Their knowledge was wide- ranging and informative.

I am writing this on behalf of my friends and I who stayed 5 nights at Aigas last April-May with our school. The staff are lovely and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, the food is delicious (especially the homemade soup.) There is nothing terrible I could say about our stay at Aigas and we all plan on staying again once we have graduated! I would like to thank everyone at Aigas Field Centre and we will see you soon!
