Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

We stayed at Aigas Field Centre for 5 days in August 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities on offer: where else could you stay in a wooden chalet, eat wonderful food in a baronial hall and have professionally guided wildlife watching outings every day? The ethics of the organisation are admirable with support of education on wildlife and conservation. Having spent holidays in Scotland over 40 years, and now lucky enough to live here, we still appreciated being taken to the best sites for seeing wildlife in this beautiful part of the country. An real bonus was the opportunity to watch badgers, pine martens and beaver from the estate hides. Excellent weather enhanced the experience, especially watching young golden eagles against a blue sky!

I saw British wildlife up close without the intrusive element I had feared. I saw birds that I had not seen before. it was with trepidation that I embarked on my first solo holiday. I needn't have worried as I barely realised I was on my own. I saw British wildlife up close without the intrusive element I had feared. I saw birds that I had not seen before. The guides were all so enthusiastic and knowledgable and every moment of the day from early morning till late at night is potentially filled with activity if that's what you want. A truly memorable stay in a beautiful place hosted by a wonderful family.
My sister and I joined the Highland House Party on the last week of the 2011 programme. Although the weather was wet and windy, the warmth of the hospitality was superb. The 7 young rangers were outstanding - kind, caring, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna of the area. Our days were full and varied, and the food - all locally sourced - was excellent. When we left we felt that we had become part of the Lister-Kaye family! We can't wait to return. The ceilidh on the final evening just rubber-stamped' a truly memorable week. I am now re-reading Sir John's books, and have already used some of Lady Lucy's recipes!

The 7 young rangers were outstanding - kind, caring, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna of the area. Our days were full and varied, and the food - all locally sourced - was excellent. When we left we felt that we had become part of the Lister-Kaye family! We can't wait to return. The ceilidh on the final evening just rubber-stamped' a truly memorable week. I am now re-reading Sir John's books, and have already used some of Lady Lucy's recipes!
