Went to Uist with the Aigas Field Center. If you enjoy bird watching, walking, great food and comfortable accommodations, you need to check out this trip. Calum, Louis, and Martyn were fantastic guides. The group saw 93 species of birds, 7 mammals, and 10 invertebrates. I’m new to birding, so to be honest, I actually was only able to identify about half the birds (but not from the lack of the rangers and fellow travelers trying to help me.) To get the full benefit on the walks, I would highly recommend renting a good pair of binoculars from Aigas if you don’t have some. The trip isn’t just about nature. You will also visit historic sites and learn about living on Uist.

Truly one of the most incredible holidays I have ever had. Every day was filled with well-planned trips to beautiful places. Complete with guides who were very knowledgeable about all of the aspects of the highlands: history, geology, flora and fauna, and how it is all interdependent. The feeling of do love and appreciation for all of the natural wonders of the highlands was contagious and I feel that it will ever remain within my spirit. The accommodations were very well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The grounds and gardens were so beautiful, so tenderly card for, and the food was exquisite! Absolutely nothing here was below an excellent score!

Truly one of the most incredible holidays I have ever had. Every day was filled with well-planned trips to beautiful places. Complete with guides who were very knowledgeable about all of the aspects of the highlands: history, geology, flora and fauna, and how it is all interdependent. The feeling of do love and appreciation for all of the natural wonders of the highlands was contagious and I feel that it will ever remain within my spirit. The accommodations were very well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The grounds and gardens were so beautiful, so tenderly card for, and the food was exquisite! This was our first Road Scholar trip and we have already put a deposit down on our next trip. Everyone was personable and well informed. The food was spectacular. There was a good balance of activities. The Road Scholar model was indeed "value added" beyond what I could have planned myself.

This was our first Road Scholar trip and we have already put a deposit down on our next trip. I particularly liked the small group model, even though this "small group" consisted of 32 people - a nice mix of former professions and interests. The Aigas Field Center and Rangers were welcoming. Everyone was personable and well informed. The food was spectacular. There was a good balance of activities. The Road Scholar model was indeed "value added" beyond what I could have planned myself.
