Programmes By Date - Aigas Field Centre

As soon as I drove into the car park to be met by a smiling ranger I had just the best time. The food was excellent, all requests catered for without problem. The rangers were great company, very engaging and informative and although I knew the area a little they showed me places I had never seen before. The mini-buses were roomy and comfortable and we were well looked after with stops for drinks etc. Accomodation was clean and comfortable, no single supplements either. By the end of the week I had logged more than 80 species of bird and lots of mammals including a whale and fabulous views of otters. The company was varied in terms of age and wildlife experience but we all got on together. i just had the most relaxing time and can't wait to go back!

The rangers who drove the vehicles to take us to Scottish places of interest were very capable and kind. Scotland,in the Highlands is bewitching. Was not surprised to find the weather too cool and wet. Out of ten days three were sunny and the sky blue. Those three days were a surprise. A traveler comes prepared. The cabins we stayed in were fine. Each room had its private bathroom. All meals, teas and talks took place in the manor house. Three fine dogs were a bonus.

The hosts at Aigas were Sir John and Lady Lucy Lister Kaye, he a naturalist and writer and she a gardener and superb cook. Both were gracious, welcoming and most informative. The rangers who drove the vehicles to take us to Scottish places of interest were very capable and kind. Scotland,in the Highlands is bewitching. We went for the Highland House Party Week and we were in a group of 13. We visited alot of places during the week visiting historical buildings and watching wildlife. The week is busy but very enjoyable a must if you visit the Highlands. The rangers are knowledgeable about the area and are happy to help in any way they can. The food which is included in the prices is good home cooking and tastes lovely. My favourite was the homemade mushroom soup and venison casserole. All diets are catered for.
